"Community Education and Information" and "Improved Media Coverage and Public Dialogue through Communication Best Practices" are the second and third strategies recommended in the first-ever county-wide Strategic Plan for Suicide Prevention approved by the Santa Clara County (SCC) Board of Supervisors in August 2010. The primary objective of Communications Workgroup is to:
- Plan and implement community education & information Campaign related to suicide prevention; and
- Educate Media to more effective reporting on suicides; and
- Develop/select a paradigm-changing suicide prevention message.
