"Community Education and Information" and "Improved Media Coverage and Public Dialogue through Communication Best Practices" are the second and third strategies recommended in the first-ever county-wide Strategic Plan for Suicide Prevention approved by the Santa Clara County (SCC) Board of Supervisors in August 2010. The primary objective of Communications Workgroup is to:

  • Plan and implement community education & information Campaign related to suicide prevention; and
  • Educate Media to more effective reporting on suicides; and
  • Develop/select a paradigm-changing suicide prevention message.

Newsletters

The suicide prevention program released its first Suicide Prevention Newsletter in April 2011. If you would like to be a part of SCC suicide prevention community, and receive newsletters/periodic emails from us, click here to send us an email.

Meetings
